Use Case

This process is used when preparing GST returns that need to be reviewed and stored within the Members Hub for compliance and record-keeping.

Workflow

Step 1: Preparing and Printing Tax Returns

  1. Navigate to the tax return section and select "Print" and "Copy Types."

  2. Choose the taxpayer's 1120 tax return and maintain the default file name. Click "Create PDF."

  3. Simultaneously, begin creating the K1 package, naming it with the member's name followed by "K1". Click "Create PDF."

Step 2: Organizing and Extracting Required Documents

  1. Download the tax return to your computer and organize it in a designated "Clean Out" folder.

  2. Open the downloaded file in Adobe Acrobat and extract required pages, like the Federal 8879 e-signature page.

  3. Save the extracted pages in the Clean Out folder, ensuring they are labeled correctly as e-signatures.

Step 3: Uploading to the Members Hub

  1. Open the Members Hub and prepare to upload the returns. Make sure to select the correct state, such as New Jersey, where applicable.

  2. Drag and drop the final return, e-signature page, and K1 documents into the Members Hub. Verify the member and fund strategy before uploading.

  3. Confirm that all necessary documents are uploaded and correctly associated with the respective member.
